2026 Award Recipients

Community Service Awards

Each year we recognize members whose faith and generosity have shaped our community.

Dr. Nemat Ibrahim
2026 Life of Service Award

Dr. Nemat Ibrahim

Dr. Nemat Ibrahim was raised in a deeply faithful home. At the young age of five, she witnessed her father, Hegumen Ibrahim Abdallah, answer God’s call to the holy priesthood. From her earliest years, she experienced the blessings of a life dedicated to Christ and His Church, developing a profound love and admiration for faithful service that has remained with her throughout her life.

She graduated from Ain Shams School of Medicine in 1966 and was married to the late Dr. Yahya Ibrahim. Together, they built a Christ-centered family, and God blessed them with two devoted children, Fr. Mark Ibrahim and Mary, both faithful servants of the Lord. After immigrating to America in 1991, Dr. Nemat became one of the pioneering servants of the church, offering her time, talents, and love with remarkable humility and dedication. She played an essential role in welcoming many revered bishops and fathers, helping to foster a spirit of hospitality and unity within the growing congregation. Through her involvement in the church’s communication network, she helped keep the young community connected and supported during its formative years.

Her love for God’s people has been evident in countless acts of kindness—visiting the sick, comforting the sorrowful, encouraging the weary, and sharing in the joy of life’s blessings and accomplishments. Whether celebrating graduates or offering a listening ear to those in need, she has reflected Christ’s love in both word and deed.

Dr. Nemat has been a steadfast pillar of faith, love, and service, helping to nurture not only her own family but also the early church in Michigan. Her life is a beautiful testimony to the words of Scripture: she is truly rooted and grounded in the love of Christ. Her beauty is not merely outward but shines from “the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God” (1 Peter 3:4).

Through her humility, compassion, and unwavering devotion, Dr. Nemat continues to inspire all who know her. May God grant her many blessed years in health, peace, and joy, and may He reward her abundant labors with His heavenly blessings.

We thank our loving Lord for gifting us with our wonderful loving and gentle mother and Teta, Dr. Nemat Ibrahim. To our Lord is the glory forever. Amen.
